Rural and Remote – Kerala
If you like to get away from the main tourist areas and get off the beaten track then this section is for you. The accommodation listed is not at a ‘destination’ and staying here is more about getting to know the locals. The accommodation in these rustic areas is either small hotels/guesthouses or homestays. Many are working farms or plantations so guests also have the opportunity to learn about food production.
The Foothills
You do not have to go to the highest sections of the Western Ghats to enjoy some mountain scenery and cool air. A visit to the foothills can break-up a long journey. The secluded locations of these properties is superb and they offer a more personal experience.
