Karnataka Coast 

Karnataka has a 300 km long coast line but unlike Goa to the north and Kerala to the south has very little tourist infrastructure. Goa and Mangalore are the nearest airports. The small town of Gokarna is renowned as a pilgrimage centre and for its wide, unspoilt beaches. Gokarna with its temples and traditional houses set in narrow streets is a world away from the more cosmopolitan Goa (just 30 km north) and visitors should be aware of this and dress suitably when visiting the town. Cintacor Island is 9 kms (20 mins) from Karwar on the mainland. The closest airport is Goa.
