Shekhawati Region

Shekhawati is a wide-spread region in the northern part of Rajasthan, sharing a border with the states of Haryana and Punjab.  It includes the areas of Churu, Mandawa, Nawalgarh and Jhunjhunu.  Famous for its desert, fresco-painted havelis and heritage hotels.  Many of the grand havelis were constructed by Marwari merchants and Skekhawat kings in the 17th-19th centuries.
