The whole holiday was amazing. We were very pleased we booked 2 nights on the Kerala Houseboat - this gave us the chance to get away from the busy waterways and into the narrow canals and really see life. The overall holiday was excellent! Our original plans were to book on a small group holiday but we found travelling on our own with a driver was a good experience that we would like to repeat. The drivers were supportive and thoughtful but not intrusive. Our hosts at the homestays were welcoming and informative.

Absolutely everything was FANTASTIC ! Everyone was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a holiday of a lifetime. The itinerary was prefect for an introduction to Kerala; the accommodation was superb, the food delicious and all activities were interesting and worthwhile.

We had a lovely trip. Beach Gate Bungalows - this was a little oasis. I loved Cochin and found it very interesting. I enjoyed the Kathakali performance more than I expected. The Good Earth Rice Barge was my choice and not one you promote. The boat was VERY basic, but it was clean and the three crew were delightful. We had a lovely three days cruising the backwaters. Aakriti Homestay - what excellent hosts the Kumars are. Our three days here were excellent. KAAV Safari Lodge - we loved our tents!!! They were so comfortable and on their own away from the main building. The manager - PK is superb. He is quiet, gentle and runs a really tight ship. Amaryllis - we probably had the best view from our three house – the lower one. The food was excellent – and Victor and Jini are great hosts. Chera Rocks Beach House - the rooms were fairly basic, but lovely hot showers and were right on the beach.
So that’s a run down on our holiday. As you can see it was a great success. Thank you for organising it for us.
I would just like to echo Alli’s comments about our truly wonderful holiday. We were looked after from beginning to end by so many lovely people, saw so many wonderful things, and enjoyed the magic of India once again. Thank you so much.

Thank you for such a well written and comprehensive set of documents to send us on our way. Your care is much appreciated. We will recommend you to anyone.
We're safely back from our second trip to Kerala (the previous one was in 2006). Companion Holidays (the local agent) was obviously doing things efficiently in the background. The drivers were all careful, polite and pleasant. Brunton Boatyard and Coconut Lagoon - the same perfection as on our previous visit.
This was our first self-guided India holiday - no detailed timetable, no early mornings to go to temples etc- and it worked perfectly. After six visits to India, we had the confidence to get around and see what we wanted at our own pace - having luxury accommodation to fall back on helped! A great trip, thanks. As always, we said to ourselves that it would be our last to India, but who knows........

Nothing went wrong – what more can I say? I cannot praise your people enough. It all worked like clockwork. Thanks very much.
The best holiday yet in this beautiful country. You have excelled yourselves and we shall look forward to returning again with you next year. Thank you so much.

Ben and I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for a fabulous trip to Kerala, it was so relaxed, the people were lovely and the trip ran without a hiccup! Thank you so much for organising our trip we are already plotting our next to north India so will definitely be in touch once we’ve saved up enough to go back!

We have been using Kerala Connections since 2006 – was our 7th trip - they have all been excellent but somehow they always seem to still get even better from the initial planning, the booking and support from Companion Holidays (their partner in India) whilst in India. We look forward to planning our next trip with you.
Dhole’s Den - another favourite which will be better still next time as they will have the swimming pool finished. To sit on the veranda ands to see animals at the other side of the fence is amazing. We saw a mongoose catch a crow and then bring it back into the grounds. The frogs were a complimentary extra!
Julie and I have been lucky enough to travel to some beautiful and interesting places around the world. Last year we were in South Africa, which culminated in a safari, we stayed in the most luxurious hotels, and decided it was our best holiday……until we went to India. We had the best time ever, from being picked up at the airport to the final drop off. Benny our driver was polite, professional and always courteous, he was incredibly knowledgeable, and helpful, and absolute delight, the trip was planned down to the last detail impeccably, by you, thank you very much, the hotels were a perfect choice, and we couldn’t have wished for more.
Everything great. Grande Bay - very helpful staff, lovely pool. Good situation for walking into town. Visalam - fabulous stay - staff wonderful, lovely hotel and loved Chettinad area. Aanavilasam - Lovely stay - couldn't fault it and hospitality fabulous.

Can't believe this was our fifth trip with you and, as ever, it was organised perfectly. The Dharavi Slum tour was a real eye-opener, and worth the price. Our guide was really excellent and the work they do there is truly laudable. We would highly recommend it. The toy train ride to Ooty was fabulous. Our driver Shibu remains the nicest man, and best driver, ever. He always makes the whole trip enjoyable, safe and huge fun. His attention to our needs is second to none and his time-keeping and professionalism deserve the highest praise. Thank heavens we booked early enough to ensure we had him! Hopefully, we'll be in touch a bit later in the year to book another marvellous trip.
Just wanted to say a huge thank you for our amazing holiday. The arrangements were perfect... I really couldn’t fault it. We were extra spoilt by having the very best driver - Wilson - who was a gem and the envy of everyone we met. Secret Garden was lovely, an oasis in the middle of tiny lanes. Purity and the houseboat ....first class! The right amount of time at each. The Gateway finished the holiday in a relaxing way. All in all you can see it was really good. We especially liked the booklet - the best I’ve ever had from any travel company.
A huge thank you.
We enjoyed our trip to Kolkata and Orissa. We stopped quite frequently at various tribal villages – we were impressed by their ingenuity and cleanliness. My memory of visiting similar villages years ago, was that they smelled of the open sewer running through the centre of the village. No more. Each family has its’ own loo courtesy of the Indian Government and they use it too. The Hotels in this part of the trip were pretty basic.
Jacqueline and Peter Jonas
Mr and Mrs Jonas (regular customers of ours) did an interesting trip visiting the tribal areas of Orissa.
Our third holiday in Kerala with you and the best yet. Everything went smoothly and we were more than happy with the variety of accommodation and the friendliness of the people we met. As always we were grateful for the advice and help given in planning the holiday.
Our third visit and impossible to find fault with Dewalokam. Sinta and family were, as always, helpful in every way.
We loved Marari Villas and the couple who ran it. They had done everything possible to overcome recent problems with the cyclone and we didn’t feel disadvantaged in any way. Would recommend the resort to others.
Gary - could you suggest an outline of a trip to Northern India to include the Taj Mahal and Rajasthan? We feel we should try a different experience although it would be hard not to go back to Kerala!
Sheila and Geoff Rapley
The backwaters Cruise and birding at Thattekkad were the most memorable parts of the holiday. I recommend spending at least 2 nights on houseboat. I rate this holiday as 5 stars (excellent) - Kerala Connections were very helpful.
Richard booked the Kerala Homestay Tour through Responsible Travel.
We found Daniel and Jerry extremely helpful and attentive throughout. The calibre of the Companion Holidays drivers (Joe and Shibu) was way above those we used elsewhere. They looked after the vehicles beautifully, drove safely and were very companionable and looked after us well.
Jo & Roger Taylor
The local agent was very efficient service with excellent drivers. Our three drivers were very different but all kind, knowledgeable and approachable. Overall a wonderful holiday – thank you.
Andrew Hodge & Judy Flounders
Joe (our driver) was very informative and always arrived on time. He was very thoughtful and listened to our interests. For example I wanted to look at fabrics and he took us to a fabulous fabric Printing establishment employing people with special needs whose parents work on the tea plantations in Munnar. This was the highlight of my trip to India! We were also very grateful that he took us to clean cafes and restaurants! Our fear was becoming ill on the trip but we were fine. Dewalokam was a highlight of our trip- we loved this experience! Spice Village was fabulous; the houseboat a wonderful experience.
The holiday went like clockwork and we enjoyed every minute. Thank you Kerala Connections for your ultra professional service- we will and have recommend you to friends!
